Obscenity is in the eye of the beholder.
Just so noone takes it personal, please remember that
obscenity is a very relative term. I use it to mean
"things I don't want my children to see".
Since I am using such a vague rule to measure web pages, there
are occassional pages which slip past my automated software.
When this happens, I make it possible for visitors to have a page
re-checked by submitting the URL for re-indexing. If I can, I
personally verify pages which have been complained about, and
try to make my rules more intelligent to prevent future pages
from slipping by. However, just because you or someone else
complains about a page doesn't mean it will automatically get
blocked from my index. After all, I might not consider it to be
obscene, even if you do.

Words which are blatantly obscene will cause a page to be
blocked from the index for being obscene. This category
includes words which have a strong sexual conotation and no
other appropriate use, also many racial slurs are included in
this category.

Words which are "borderline" (ie. might have obscene
conotations) are counted. If the percentage of "borderline"
words to other words is too high, the page will be blocked
from the index for being obscene. This category includes words
which have multiple meanings, double entendres, medical terms and
also words which tend to appear very frequently on adult oriented
sites and might help to improve my ability to block them, such as
"first amendment rights".

Foreign words are also counted. If the percentage of foreign
words to english words is too high, the page will be blocked
from the index for being foreign. I block foreign pages because
I don't speak any languages except english, and wouldn't know if a
foreign page contains obscenity or not.

Commercial pages are blocked from the index.
I don't just block any page that is owned by a company,
since this would seriously limit the available information I
could index and provide to my visitors. I do however block
pages which are no more than a blatant advertisement with no
valid content. I also block pages which contain order forms.

Refering pages are blocked from the index.
If a page has been marked as obscene by my indexing software, I
also block all the pages that point to the obscenity. The
purpose of this is to make this index not point people to any
pages that would put them within one click of the obscenity.
I refer to this as the demilitarized zone.
